What is Kleyzmer Music?
Klezmer is a Jewish instrumental musical tradition originated in Central and Eastern Europe.
This type of music includes dance tunes, ritual melodies, and Gypsy style improvisations. The instruments and the flavour of the sound is very similar to Balkan, Russian, Greek & Turkish music, those were the influences of the time. The Jewish communities picked the Double Bass, Clarinets, Violins, Accordions, Trumpets and composed songs , mostly sung in Yiddish , that was the traditional language of they used to speak. This language sounds very much like German / Austrian / Dutch , also known as “The Ashkenazi Language – The Ashkenazi Music”
