American Ragtime / Swing from the early 1900’s
A Rag Composed in 1902 by Scott Joplin, in those days it was sold as sheet music.
A few years later it was sold as a ‘Piano Roll’ played automatically on specific pianos who could read roll music without a pianist physically sitting and playing, as if it was a record.
Later, in 1928 it was recorded with Guitar and Mandolin by the ‘Blue boys”
In 1973 this song created a ragtime revival in the when it was used as the theme music for the film “The Sting”.
